In one minute

Vedat Muriqi headed the winner as Fenerbahce came back twice to beat Liverpool 3–2 in Istanbul, handing Liverpool its first Champions League loss of the season.

Trey Nyoni scored his first senior goal in the 25th minute, and Fenerbahce hit the bar through İrfan Can Kahveci just after falling behind. Mason Greenwood equalized four minutes later with a free kick that deflected off Jérémy Jacquet and wrong-footed Alisson.

Substitute Alexander Isak headed Liverpool ahead again in the 69th minute from Cody Gakpo's cross after a triple change that also brought on Gakpo and Florian Wirtz, but Archie Brown tapped in from N'Golo Kanté's cross after a corner four minutes later, and Muriqi headed home from a long throw in the 79th.

All three Fenerbahce goals came from set pieces. Dirk Kuyt was in interim charge for the hosts. Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola said: "Cheap goals, messy goals."
